The world of Celebrity Couples really heated up in 2005, sparked by high profile divorces and hook ups. What is it that makes this genre such a growing interest to all of us in the world of gossip?
We think it’s the mystery… the fun of being able to say “I told you so” when Joe Actor and Suzie Musician break up. Alternatively, the thrill of victory the tabloids have when they have been reporting for almost a year that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are together, and then a pregnancy is announced.
There is still plenty of mystery. Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn have refused to admit they are an item, and they very well could not be, despite the paparazzi photos of them together.
Nicole Kidman and her publicist both state that Keith Urban is just a good friend of hers, despite rumors of a March wedding and a witness who the saw the couple making out quite passionately this week.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are in the news yet again. A judge has granted the couple permission to use Brad’s last name for Angelina’s adopted children. Zahara and Maddox will now have the the full names of “Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt” and “Maddox Chivan Jolie-Pitt”. The poor kids will love writing that all the way through school.
Neither of the couple were present during the court hearings in California.

The People’s Choice Awards aired tonight, and quite a few of our favorite celebrity couple members won awards.
Reese Witherspoon won the award for Best Leading Lady for her role in the movie “Walk The Line” as June Carter. "You guys voted for us. Not the stuffy people in closed rooms ... people who voted actually go to the movies," she said.
Jennifer Garner won the award for Best Female Action Star, narrowly beating out Angelina Jolie. Jennifer also received the Favorite Female TV Star award. She couldn’t be at the award ceremony as she was home with her new child, Violet.

Hold off on buying that first edition of "Dianetics" as a wedding present for Tom Cruise and his pregnant fiancée, Katie Holmes.
The buzz is that the engagement of the happy couple has hit a few bumps and, after reportedly tense holidays spent at Holmes’ house, wedding plans may have been put on hold.
With a new year beginning, Cruise “decided to take the opportunity to mend fences with the family of his fiancée, Katie Holmes,” according to the upcoming issue of Life & Style Weekly. It didn’t go so well.
“Tom and Katie ended up leaving — three days earlier than planned,” according to a “close friend” of Cruise. “Katie was in tears, but that’s standard when it comes to dealing with family matters and Tom.”
A spokesman for Cruise denies the story, but there have been previous reports that Holmes’ lawyer father is not thrilled with the prospects of the two getting hitched.

Apparently all attempts to reconcile have failed, as Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards have started the divorce process.
They split in early 2005 while Denise was 7 months pregnant with their child. The couple has been attempting to reconcile ever since. The media has been following the story all along, with Sheen even making talk show appearances where he talked about it.
Both Denise and Charlie have been quiet on the big screen up late. Most know Denise from her roles in Wild Things, Starship Troopers, and the James Bond flick The World Is Not Enough. Sheen has been in a great number of films, including Platoon, Wall Street, and a series of comedic spoofs.
The couples child, Lola, was born on June 1.
