The world of Celebrity Couples really heated up in 2005, sparked by high profile divorces and hook ups.  What is it that makes this genre such a growing interest to all of us in the world of gossip? 

We think it’s the mystery…  the fun of being able to say “I told you so” when Joe Actor and Suzie Musician break up.  Alternatively, the thrill of victory the tabloids have when they have been reporting for almost a year that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are together, and then a pregnancy is announced.

There is still plenty of mystery.  Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn have refused to admit they are an item, and they very well could not be, despite the paparazzi photos of them together. 

Nicole Kidman and her publicist both state that Keith Urban is just a good friend of hers, despite rumors of a March wedding and a witness who the saw the couple making out quite passionately this week.

Matthew McConaughey and Penélope Cruz both walked the red carpet alone at the Golden Globes, and were not seen together all night.  There has been no word from either camp if the couple is still together.

Add in some fun short term mysteries, like Eva Longoria and Jamie Foxx being all over one another at the Golden Globes.  Eva later stated her and Tony Parker’s relationship is just fine, both mentally and physically.  However, for a couple days, the gossip blogs and tabloids were just pulsing with the story.

The Celebrity Couples Online message board is a great example of people who are just waiting to say “I told you so”.  We have members who are already betting on the Angelina and Brad relationship, with the majority voting against it working.  Either way, the mysterious nature of Celebrity Couple new will continue its reign throughout 2006.  And we are certainly glad to be here to cover it all!
